Who are we?

The Friends of the Joseph Barker Jr. House is a 501c3 non-profit association, comprised of local individuals dedicated to preserving the cultural history and impact of the Barker family on the Lower Newport community, the Marietta settlement, pioneer Washington County, the Northwest Territory, and the State of Ohio, as well as restoring the historic architecture of the Barker family home.

There are two primary ways you can support the FJBJ…

Your investment in our work directly supports the immediate tasks ahead of us, which first includes evaluating and restoring the structural integrity of the damaged roof, walls, and floors. You can support these efforts in two ways:

Financial support

Donations made through the Marietta Community Foundation directly fund all aspects of the FJBJ operations, including but not limited to securing grants/federal funding and hiring professionals to oversee all technical aspects of restoration process.
